Join hands to pressure Govt, KRV to politicians for Suvarna Vidhana Soudha works in Belgaum

BELGAUM: The Karnataka Rakshana Vedike has urged all the political parties of the district to join hands to pressurise the Karnataka Governor to start the proposed Suvarna Vidhana Soudha works in Belgaum immediately.

In a press release, the outfit said the previous JD(S)-BJP coalition Government had sanctioned Rs 250-crore for the proposed Vidhana Soudha. The then government had even conducted Bhoomi Pooja to commence the work. However, due to sudden political changes in the state the construction work came to a standstill.The political leaders of the district should put pressure on Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur to take up the project, it said.

The KRV had urged the Governor to develop the graveyard of Sangolli Rayanna at Nandgad village in Khanapur taluk.It said the Governor should visit the graveyard of Rayanna on January 26 - the day when Rani Chennamma’s trusted lieutenant was hanged by the British at Nandgad.
