Seizing an opportunity to attract investment, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today wrote to Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, saying that the state was willing to extend all facilities, including land, to set up a coach factory in Karnataka.
The facilities could be set up either at Hubli or any other part of Karnataka, "in the interest of the development of the Railways in the state," he said.

The Chief Minister sent the letter after the Railways dropped plans to set up the factory at Rai Bareilly, following cancellation of land allotment by the Uttar Pradesh government.

Yedyurappa also requested the railway minister to take an early decision on the matter.

The Karnataka government has already given 100 acres of land in Hubli free of cost to the Railway Ministry for expansion of cargo and workshop activities. It has been providing upto 67 per cent of the cost of railway projects being implemented in the state, he said. PTI
