BELGAUM: The newly constructed administrative office of the Belgaum Zilla Panchayat located on Kacheri Road, behind the present office will be inaugurated on Jan 25. ZP president Nazeerahmed Nadaf will inaugurate the office at 12.15 pm.
MP Suresh Angadi will preside, MLCs of Belgaum district, Regional Commissioner Amita Prasad, Deputy Commissioner M E Shivalingmurthy and ZP CEO N Prabhakar will be the chief guests.Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, Dhamannavar, executive engineer, Engineering Division, Belgaum ZP said Karnataka Land Army had constructed the building in just eight months with an estimated cost of Rs 406 lakh.
The building is constructed on 3,064 sq feet area.The administrative office has been well designed with modern technics. The well furnished meeting hall, which has been constructed on a par with the Council hall of Karnataka Vidhana Soudha, has a good sound system. The seating capacity of the hall is 280.Separate offices for president, vice president, standing committee chairperson, CEO and other top officers has been constructed in the new building.
Dhamannavar said the amount spent to construct the building includes Rs 122 lakh meant for other public related programmes sanctioned for ZP. The said amount was utilised after obtaining permission from the Government with an intension of completing the building in time, he said.
The said Rs 122 lakh will be utilised for the prescribed programmes as soon as the Government releases the remaining amount for the building construction, he informed.
