Belgaum's MLA adopts 41 govt schools

BELGAUM:
The school nurturing programme implemented by the government to develop infrastructure in public schools
, with the assistance of private
donors, has been getting tremendous response in Belgaum city.

Students studying in government primary schools in Belgaum (North) assembly constituency will soon get desks to sit on in their classrooms. MLA Firoz Sait has adopted all the 41 schools in his constituency and will provide desks at a cost of Rs 20.50 lakh.

Firoz Sait is also providing sites to construct more schools, for students attending classes in rented buildings. The Rotary Club in Belgaum has come forward with a site worth Rs 10 lakh to girls high school at Gandhi Nagar. It has also promised to provide water facility to Kannada Boys School (KBS), Marathi Boys School (MBS) and Urdu Boys School (UBS) in Ram Nagar area.

Abhay Patil adopted five schools in Shahapur-KBS-4, MBS-13, KBS-16, MBS-26, KBS-45, MBS-19 for overall development.

The Lions Club of Shahapur adopted all schools coming under Shahapur cluster and will provide tape recorders to each school.
