Two-day job fair in Dharwad from tomorrow

DHARWAD: The Skill Development Commission, Employment and Training Institute, State Vocational Training and Skill Development Corporation will jointly organize a two-day job fair on July 3 and 4 at RLS Pre-University College and LEA Town Hall here.

Briefing reporters on the fair here on Wednesday, executive director of Vocational Training and Skill Development, Vishnukanth Chatpalli, it is a flagship programme of the government, which includes zonal-level training courses and job fairs in the state.

Nearly 62 domestic and international companies will participate in the event, which will provide a platform for job aspirants and employers to interact. Wipro BPO, FirstSource Solutions, Cafe Coffee Day, Videocon, Triton Valves and Eureka Forbes are expected to be present at the job mela.

Chatpalli said they have signed a memorandum of understanding with nearly 40 training centres of international repute to provide training to undergraduates and graduates.

The valedictory of the fair will be held at 3:30 pm on July 4, with labour minister B N Bacchegouda as the chief guest.
